The Audi TT Car Review – Fast Refined And Awesome To Drive

The new Audi TT is Fast, refined and awesome to drive, it’s all you’d ever want from the model and pretty well all you’d ever want from any sports car too. A cool, calm performer styled to captivate. The defining look of the late Nineties, now refined in the new car. More importantly, the new Audi TT drives even better.

The Audi TTs use a six-speed manual gear box but both models are also available with Audi’s excellent six-speed, S-Tronic direct-shift gearbox which acts like an automatic or a manual.

It goes through corners with excellent ease, allowing the throttle to be planted exceptionally early. The cabin is wider and roomier than the previous model, but still intimate enough to be a sports car. The rear seats are just like extra boot space. The boot isn’t huge but the rear seats fold 50/50 flat to boost practicality.

All the controls are fine to use, but the build quality is slightly poorer than the last model. There far fewer ingots of solid aluminium and the new rotary climate control knobs work well, but they move around a little bit, although it’s not a big issue.

The new Audi TT comes with decent levels of safety equipment, including front and side airbags. Electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes are both standard equipment.

Running costs will be reasonable, with the two-litre returning over 35mpg and low emissions meaning a low tax rate (23 percent) for company car drivers. The V6 stings harder at the maximum 35 percent. Private buyers can rest assured the new TT will hold its value just as well as the car it replaces.
